Four albums and four singles all for £10.
The first two LPs of the day from CLIC Sergeant charity shop for £2.50 each.
I also picked up another copy of my favourite album, Graceland by Paul Simon. I now own four copies, excessive I know but they make great presents because it is such a wonderful album.
My last and best purchase of the day was the 1990 Cowboy Junkies LP, The Caution Horses. I’ve never spent anytime listening to the Cowboy Junkies but love this album. Their sound is a sort of Nico vocaled Velvet Underground meets country & western and folk. A snip at £2 and an album I’ve already played three times today.
The 45s: Another Brick in the Wall by Pink Floyd, Yazoo’s synth hit Only You, Are ‘Friends’ Electric by Gary Numan’s Tubeway Army and finally a bashed up copy of Tears of a Clown by Smokey Robinson. A bargain at £1 for all four. That adds up to £9.50 for the lot, the extra 50p I donated making it £10. Not bad considering what I got.
No more record buying for a few more week, my next opportunity will be the Record Fair at the Colston Hall on April 6th.
