A Wheelbarrow of Success

What’s Really in Your Wheelbarrow of Success?

Ok, I’m on my way to your house right now, I’ve got a wheelbarrow of success that I’m going to dump on your front lawn. Ready?

Here’s the thing, everyone wants success but often it’s hard to recognise it when we are offered it.

This question, inspired by Michael Neil, got me thinking about how we often chase success without really defining what it means for us. Many people, including CEOs I’ve worked with, initially think success is about reaching a specific job title or earning a large(r) amount of money. But when they get there, well, it’s not as fulfilling as you thought.

For me, success isn’t working long hours or earning more money. It’s about spending time with my daughter as she grows up, living a life I enjoy on the coast in Dorset. That’s my version of success, and do you know what? omeone dumped that wheelbarrow of success a few years ago and I didn’t realise they had.

But what about you?

What does success look like in your life? Is it tied to financial achievements, or does it relate more to lifestyle and personal satisfaction?

More on this in this video…

Here are a few things to reflect on:

  • What’s in your wheelbarrow of success?
  • Is your success about money, or is it about something more meaningful?
  • Have you redefined what success means to you as you’ve grown?

Knowing what success means for you can help you recognize it when it arrives. It doesn’t have to be about money or status—sometimes, it’s about the quality of your life or making a specific impact that truly matters.

I’d love to hear your thoughts—what does success mean to you?
