August and September 2024
I had laser eye correction surgery, after juggling two prescriptions of glasses and contacts, prescription shades I decided to go big.
I am a naturally squeamish person so the surgeon offered me a valium which took away any concern I had and it felt like the time floated by. It took 15 minutes or so per eye and was a little uncomfortable and there was no pain. I’m a week into recovery and doing well. Although the polarising sunglasses I’m wearing make me look like Bono / Tony Stark depending on your cultural touchpoint.
August was a very different month, after deciding to not work for the full month and spend it with my daughter, Liv, we had a blast. A trip to London, two camping trips. It was a joy and it gave us time to up-level her swimming, cycling and reading. Many of the CEOs I work with have young children, and like me, finding vacations challenging and exhausting. The summer vacation is not often what you picture it being, with sleepless nights and the chaos of kids on a plane (pretty sure that was a Samuel L Jackson film). I can share some advice and learning if that’s helpful, drop me a line.
I’m welcoming three new CEO clients this month. Co-CEOs in SaaS from the UK, a CEO in cybersecurity from Central Europe. It’s great to be working this side of the pond.
I also have a busy October with the personal focused retreats I offer, Trailblaze. I’ll update more next time on that.
Until next time,
Joe (mr)
